The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for the supervision, tracking, and evaluation of day to day accounting activities. This role will be focused on corporate accounting and close activities, as well as process improvement and standardization.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
Oversee and perform the month end close process, including preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, general journal entries and variance analyses
Support budget and forecast activities and assist senior management as required
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of expenses
Support the financial and bank audits, including the preparation of requested audit schedules
Establish and maintain proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
Prepare federal and state compliance filings including sales/use taxes, property taxes and other miscellaneous state taxes
Manage, train, and supervise a team of two staff accountants
Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting deadlines are met
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
7 + years of accounting experience, including some public accounting experience preferred
BS degree in Accounting/Finance required
Ability to self-direct and identify opportunities and improvements required
CPA or on-track for CPA preferred
Laundry or manufacturing experience preferred
Experience with Great Plains highly preferred
