About this Position

SeeScan is currently seeking an R&D Electrical Engineering Technician to play a key role supporting Electrical Engineering R&D functions.

We are looking for someone with Electrical Engineering Technician experience who doesn’t mind leaving their comfort zone to help the team where needed. Our ideal candidate is a natural problem solver who can debug and troubleshoot electronic and mechanical issues with minimal supervision. If you prefer a soldering iron and a schematic over a tablet stylus, then this position is for you!

Responsibilities

Debug and troubleshoot electrical and electromechanical assemblies at the component level.

Assemble prototype units.

Perform debugging, dead bugging and reworking of circuits. Able to cut and jump traces under a stereo microscope.

Test and verify electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies, including finished product.

Provide Electrical Engineering with feedback for solutions or design improvements.

Provide support to Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering teams.

Ensure product meets internal and external specifications by performing tasks associated with quality inspections.

Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB artwork, and mechanical drawings.

Knowledge of electronic circuits.

Ability to solder/rework components under magnification.

Familiar with digital and analog circuits, with the ability to read datasheets.

Familiar with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies, function generators, and general lab equipment.

Familiar with In-Process Inspection and Final Inspection.

Proficient in MS Office Suite, in particular Excel.

Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks in parallel.

Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret data.

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Capable of working under a stereo microscope for extended times.

Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for precision reworks.

Education and Experience

Associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent work experience.

1 to 3 years of related experience.

At least 1 year of experience hand soldering on PCBAs (small SMT and Thru-hole technology).
