So if you’re open to change, go ahead and unlock your potential.The Network Engineer will develop single and multi-discipline infrastructure architectures to address business requirements, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability for new infrastructure or significant enhancements to the existing network solutions. Applies technical assistance in design, development, implementation and management of infrastructure. Works with technical staff to understand and resolve complex problems.The job duties of the Network Engineer will also include:
Planning and implementation of infrastructure - new equipment, updates, testing and validation.
Creates comprehensive documentation and operation procedures to support the infrastructure.
Provides work mentoring and training to analysts, operational staff and peers.
Assists in evaluating, implementing and managing infrastructure life cycles.
Supports solution evaluation and qualification on leading edge technology components.
Performs various engineering tests to validate product designs.
Acts as a liaison between customers and vendors to gather requirements.
Ensures that production schedules are followed and solutions meet business and quality requirements.
Engages with and maintains vendor relationships.This is a Full Time, Salaried position and located at the Scripps Health Business Office in the Mira Mesa area. Participates in On-call rotation.//
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
Excellent critical and analytical thinking and excellent customer service skills.
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced infrastructure design skills.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Expert in multiple computing disciplines such as operating systems, virtualization, networking or cloud services.
Expert knowledge in at least one scripting language.
Expert understanding of the first 3 ISO layers such as: VLAN Trunking, Routing protocols, spanning tree, cabling standards, or other networking technologies.
Expert understanding of security concepts such as: DMZ, firewalls, threat protection or packet inspection services.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
Bachelor's degree.
5 years’ experience in a healthcare or IT setting.
3-4 years of professional experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, Prime, ISE, Wi-Fi APs and controllers.
CCNA Certification and/or CCNP Certification.
Experience supporting large WAN/LAN network in the healthcare industry.
Experience with design and architect of network infrastructure for new and existing locations.
Experience supporting F5 Big-IP Application Delivery systems, Bluecat DHCP/DNS appliances.
Experience configuring F5 4000 series appliances and Viprion C2400 chassis and utilizing the vCMP, LTM, APM, and ASM modules.
Experience evaluating, troubleshooting, and documenting LAN, WAN and WLAN issues.
Experience with Solarwinds and Cisco DNA Center for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Aruba Wi-Fi infrastructure (Airwave, Clearpass, Wireless Controllers, AP management)
Documentation experience consisting of IP address assignments, network device port assignments, systems interconnection drawings and network topology drawings.
