Job Description

The Payroll Assistant is responsible for performing a wide range of payroll and benefits related duties on a professional level while working closely with the Payroll/Benefits Manager and Payroll Administrators to ensure that all company policies, benefits programs, payroll information and audits are accurate to provide maximum value to the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant will include, but not be limited to, the following:

· Assists the Payroll/Benefits Manager and Payroll Administrators with employee’s payroll and benefit related questions.

· Assists the Payroll/Benefits Manager with benefits administration and communicating benefits information to employees as needed.

· Perform semi-monthly benefit audits and maintain the audit report with new enrollees and terminations.

· Maintain employee information and proper records in Ultipro for payroll, garnishments, and benefits.

· Provide monthly email notices and assist Business Office Managers to ensure benefit enrollments, inactive employees and payroll deadlines are met.

· Develops payroll and benefit reports to ensure accuracy of data.

· Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping related information confidential.

· Provide support to payroll as needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

1) An Associates's degree or equivalent work experience

2) Familiar with Microsoft Office and knowledge in Microsoft Excel is a requirement

3) Ability to take initiative - a Self-starter

4) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

5) Ability to analyze and resolve problems through effective customer/employee interface and communication

6) Must be able to work under time constraints to ensure that deadlines are met while paying attention to details. Must be able to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

7) Effective social interaction, communication and organizational skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks efficiently

8) Experience in Hospice and/or the Healthcare industry is preferred but not required

9) Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds.
