Job Description:The Cyber Technologist is part of a Digital Technologies IT Security team supporting a wide variety of existing and proposed computer network and communications systems and projects.The employee is an active component in the protection of IT assets, infrastructure, and information.As a member of the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) group, serve as an advisor on technical and policy matters, involving the security of information systems assigned.Includes partnering with IT system administrators to assess unclassified information systems to assure compliance with applicable IT security policies, including but not limited to compliance with National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-171 and 800-53.Support risk assessments, assist with selection of IT controls to achieve compliance, conduct assessments of Information Systems (ISs) seeking an Authority To Operate (ATO), assist with the development of remediation plans and making recommendations to grant ATO for an IS to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).This role can be based at one of several RMD locations throughout the Domestic US:AL - Huntsville, CA - Fullerton, CA - San Diego, IN - Fort Wayne, MA - Andover, MA - Marlborough, MA – Tewksbury.If relocation is absolutely necessary for the selected applicant (i.e. they do not live within commuting distance to any of the locations), support will be offered as a capped amount if the applicant is eligible per company policy.Required Skills:Knowledge of security tools such as Nessus and Webinspect.Knowledge of risk assessment procedures, authorization methodologies, authentication technologies, and security attack pathologiesAbility toidentify andanalyze significant problems and opportunities.Must be ableto work effectively as part of an inter-organizational team as well as an individual contributor .Ability to rapidly generate security related content in MS Office formats (documents, spreadsheets, presentations, process flows, web content) that is targeted and comprehensible at all corporate organization levels.Desired Skills:Masters Degrees in Computer Science or engineering related field with an emphasis in information security.Experience in resolution of audit findings through analysis, problem determination and development of cost effective solutions.Strong technical background, with understanding of concepts of confidentiality, integrity and availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, user authentication and authorization.Information Security certifications (S+, GIAC, SANS, CISSP, CISA) and/or network/ systems certifications (CCNA/P, Linux/UNIX Red Hat RHCE, Microsoft MCSE).Hands on experience operating security tools in an operational environment.Experience with security artifacts such as defined by NIST.Knowledge of information systems design and development.Understanding of DFARS 252.204-7012: Safeguarding Covered Defense Information and Cyber IncidentStrong communication skills.
