Nor Companies is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team as we open a new residential facility in Escondido, CA. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs. Your primary focus will be to enhance the quality of life for those you assist by promoting independence and ensuring their safety and well-being. This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive environment that encourages personal growth and development.
Duties
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
Address high-level behavioral needs with preventative methods and crisis intervention.
Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
Perform light cooking and cleaning duties when not engaging with clients.
Support clients in social interactions and community engagement activities.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Skills
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have high school diploma or GED
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must have a criminal record clearance prior to employment and complete an LIC 508 (Criminal Record Statement)
Must have a health screening/TB clearance prior to employment
Must have at least 6 months of experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on behavioral services.
Required to complete a DSP 1 and DSP 2 certification within 1 year of hired date
Required to complete an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification within 1 year of hired date
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical interventions as required
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.

Compensation
Earn $24-$34 per hour based on experience and education. Qualified applicants may be hired on as "leads" and will typically earn more than non-lead DSPs.
$2 pay increase once RBT is obtained. We will provide RBT training and support our employees throughout the process of obtaining this valuable certification.

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
