Viejas Casino & Resort is looking for a Benefits and Compensation Specialist to join our Human Resources Team.

The Benefits and Compensation Specialist is responsible for executing the day-to-day operations of benefit administration and compensation programs, including but not limited to inputting benefit enrollment data, updating benefit elections, auditing enrollment, reconciling insurance payments, writing and maintaining job descriptions, participating in salary surveys, generating reports, internal and external compensation analysis, leave of absence (LOA) administration, and other projects for the department.

CORE SCOPE OF POSITION

Responsible for administration of benefits programs, including health insurance, dental life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, and other voluntary benefit plans.

Communicates up-to-date information about benefit programs, procedures, changes and government mandated disclosures.

Conducts new hire benefits orientation classes as needed.

Monitors new hire enrollment and internal status changes to ensure communication and notification of benefit enrollment opportunities.

Mediates between benefits providers and Team Members, such as assisting with benefits related questions or taking suggestions.

Updates benefit records in HRIS and ensures the accuracy of the HRIS benefit database.

Coordinates benefit data received from third-party vendor and ensures data is entered in HRIS and Payroll systems. Audits and validates data received.

Performs monthly detailed audits of benefits and provides account activities. Prepares check requests and submits to Manager, VP, and GM for payment.

Plans and executes coordination of the annual open enrollment process.

Responds to questions about benefits and proactively resolves benefit issues between team members, plan providers, and/or provider of service.

Writes job descriptions and working conditions, and maintains all job descriptions and working conditions are updated in shared folders and on company-wide intranet.

Participates in salary surveys and enters survey results in shared department folders for comp analysis.

Conducts internal position comp analysis and gives departments recommendations.

Generates benefits, compensation, payroll, and LOA reports when needed.

Develops, maintains, tracks and communicates Team Member wellness program.

Creates organizational and departmental training and communication for benefits, LOA, and wellness programs, including emails, direct mail, multimedia, and PowerPoint presentations.

Helps Team Members process claims and follows up with carriers to ensure timely and accurate service.

Administers LOA program along with third party vendor and is responsible for departmental and Team Member education in LOA process.
