Hi,
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and caring Household Assistant / Family Helper to support a busy single father with two children (ages 15 and 12). The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing household duties, assisting with childcare (although they are largely self sufficient), and providing general support to a family with a demanding schedule. This role requires a proactive and flexible individual who can manage a variety of tasks and integrate smoothly into our family’s routine.
Responsibilities:
Household Management:
Perform general cleaning and organizing duties to keep the home tidy and presentable.
Handle laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing clothing.
Manage household supplies and groceries, including occasional shopping trips.
Meal Preparation:
Plan and prepare nutritious and appealing meals for the family.
Assist with meal planning and grocery shopping as needed.
Clean up after meals and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
Childcare and Educational Support:
Assist with the children’s daily routines, including after-school activities.
Help the 12-year-old with homework and school projects.
Provide occasional supervision and guidance to ensure the children’s well-being.
Errands and Transportation:
Run occasional errands such as grocery shopping, picking up dry cleaning, etc.
Provide transportation for school drop-offs, pick-ups, and extracurricular activities as needed.
Miscellaneous:
Assist with organizing the home, including closets, storage areas, and other spaces.
Handle any additional tasks as requested to support the family’s needs.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role (household management, nanny, family assistant, etc.)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prepare healthy and balanced meals
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check and provide references
Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality
Flexibility to adapt to the family’s changing needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with school-aged children
Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR certification
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Compensation and Hours:
Initially I would like to have around 5 hours per day, 2 or 3 days per week @ $30 per hour
