G2 Software Systems, Inc. (G2) is looking for a self-directed and motivated individual as a Lab Technician in support of a DoD program. This position requires experience with Software Defined Radios, experience with satellite and radio communication, and electronic maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate will have three (3) or more years of experience as a DoD electronics technician. This position will perform a broad scope of laboratory maintenance and configuration, examples of such are below:

  • Perform basic diagnostics and repair of radios, power amplifiers, and networking equipment;
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, order more parts as required;
  • Manage inventory of Controlled Cryptographic Items – including hardware and encryption keys;
  • Prepare and deliver trouble reports and communicate with lab manager and program manager on status;
  • Coordinate shipment to manufacturers for repairs of equipment that cannot be completed in the lab;
  • Plan and execute lab configurations for planned test events, including cabling, networking, and configuration of multiple communications platforms;
  • Maintain software and firmware on multiple platforms, write trouble reports for any issues identified.
Proficient English with both written and verbal communication skills are necessary to participate in software design and generate written test plans and reports. An ideal candidate would be motivated to experiment with and design test environments to improve the overall laboratory evaluation process.
In addition to the skills mentioned above, having a few of the skills below is desirable:
  • Experience configuring and installing IW, SATCOM, and MUOS capable Software Defined Radio platforms such as AN/USC-61, AN/PRC-117G, and/or AN/ARC-210 with corresponding cryptographic devices such as the KGV-11, KIV-7M, and KG-84 and various power amplifiers
  • Experience with automating testing using tools such as Python, VBScript, and/or LabView
  • Experience providing test engineering support using DoD Radio Suites and RF equipment
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms at all levels of the organization and at similar levels outside the organization.
This position requires an individual to be a US citizen and either have, or be able to obtain, and retain a DoD clearance.
