Vacancy expired!

Gaia Medical Institute is a rapidly growing biotech company in La Jolla, CA. Our goal is to develop saliva biomarkers for noninvasive disease diagnostics. Our product pipeline includes saliva tests for Traumatic brain injury (TBI), Heart Failure, HIV/AIDS and Hydration monitoring. The Research Associate (RA) will serve as a research technician on the Digital Biomarker Assay team.

The RA will perform biomarker immunoassays of clinical saliva samples from patients with TBI and other diseases. The RA will perform multi-step biomarker assays that require advanced laboratory skills, understanding of protein chemistry and basic statistics. The RA must be able to work independently with a high level of self-initiative and accurate time management.

The RA will work under the direction of the Senior Research Associate and Lab Manager. The RA will be responsible for meticulous execution of the experimental work plans. This will include following Standard Operating Procedures in bench work, imaging and data analysis. The RA will also contribute to receiving and inventory of clinical samples, reagents and laboratory supplies, and the maintenance of laboratory equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry or related science, and a recent full time job experience of 2-3 years in a science laboratory.
