Responsibilities

Installs, maintains and repairs products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at the client and/or field locations. Instructs customers in equipment operation, provides technical assistance, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots equipment for malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Performs one or many of a wide range of installation tasks such as running conduit and cable, installing and connecting trays, racks and electronic hardware systems, connecting and testing both new and retrofit construction of audio/visual, computer server, network and telecommunications equipment. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Assembles, installs and configures systems and equipment in accordance with site assessments and schematics. Completes system programming and optimization as part of the installation process. Completes final commissioning and integrated acceptance testing of electrical systems and associated equipment. Ensures the commissioning and final acceptance of critical path equipment is conducted to clients requirements and in accordance with applicable industry standards (API, ABS, DNV, etc). Performs routine system maintenance and analysis functions, including hardware configurations and adding, removing and replacing equipment components. Provides on-site end-user training on system operation, maintenance and limited troubleshooting. Travels frequently to customer sites in performance of duties. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Qualifications

Two to five years experience as hands-on desktop technician, to troubleshoot hardware and software issues for the customer

Communication skills are critical, as the candidate will directly interface with the customer, and will need to update tickets in the service management tool

Technical troubleshooting skills is key to being successful. Need to be able to diagnose and resolve customer issues with their hardware and software quickly, to restore service.

Software Knowledge required for use and troubleshooting of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), MS Windows 10 20H2 (and 1909)

Hardware knowledge required for troubleshooting Toshiba and HP laptops, MS Surface Pro devices, and HP desktops
