Experienced and NICET certified I&T Fire Alarm Systems Technician II.

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 /hour (DOE)

Description:

Respond to Service Calls, troubleshoot devices, repair non-functioning fire alarms and restore them to original functionality or replace them if necessary. You will plan, perform, and coordinate periodic inspections, tests, and repairs of complex fire alarm systems and prepare related records and reports.

Responsibilities include:

Review drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.

Conduct installation activities.

Perform troubleshooting and repairs of Fire Alarm Systems

Determine the scope of an inspection assignment involving interfaces with other systems.

Inspect and repair fire alarm system to include, fire alarm panels, pull stations, bells, mini-horns, troubleshooting, replace batteries as needed.

Survey a system to identify types of devices, fire alarm system interfaces, potential problems, and existing documentation.

Determine the presence of other fire protection and building systems, and device locations.

Coordinate inspection and testing AHJ’s prior to and during the inspection.

Coordinate testing with other trades and specialties as needed.

Inspect Interfaces and Specialized Equipment

Test Functionality of Specialized and Interfaced Equipment and Circuits

Experience / Qualifications Required:

1 year of experience in the inspection and testing of fire alarm and suppression systems.

1 year periodic/maintenance inspection and testing of complex fire alarm systems

Basic knowledge in the testing/maintenance of sprinkler or special hazards fire suppression systems

Must have knowledge of fire alarm systems and their respective components, device and circuit specific test procedures for initiating devices, notification appliances, supervisory signal-initiating devices, primary and secondary power supplies, emergency communications equipment, interface with other systems, and on/off premises monitoring.

Fire alarm systems inspection

Must have a functional knowledge of all aspects of NFPA 25 and other applicable codes and regulations

Additional Qualifications:

NICET I&TFAS Level II Certification (required)

Must pass Federally Mandated Drug Test

Must pass Federal Background Investigation for DBIDS access to military installations

OSHA 30 General Industry Certification
