Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems
Technician II or III
Description:
You will be responding to and evaluating service calls related to all types of Fire Protection systems to include Fire Alarm Controls, Water Based Systems, Special Hazards Systems (Wet Chemical Fire Suppression, Clean Agent Fire Suppression, Water Mist Fire Suppression Systems).
Responsibilities include:
Inspecting and testing fire alarm systems to the prescribed standards.
Inspection and testing of existing water-based fire protection systems.
Identifying and addressing emergency and pre-planned impairments.
Performing on-site emergency troubleshooting.
Programming and repairs of Fire Alarm Control Panels.
Repair or replace pull stations, bells, mini-horns, troubleshooting, and batteries as required.
Preparing accurate and timely service call and work order reports.
Coordinate and communicate work with sub-contractors.
Supervising the work of other fire alarm technicians.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
A minimum of 3 years of work experience in the inspection and periodic testing of water-based fire protection systems.
Water-based systems installation, service, maintenance, and/or acceptance testing
Governmental enforcement of inspection and testing requirements for water-based systems
Water-based systems layout
Fire alarm systems inspection
Must have a functional knowledge of all aspects of NFPA 25 and other applicable codes and regulations
Additional Qualifications:
Must pass Federally Mandated Drug Test
Must pass Federal Background Investigation for DBIDS access to military installations
OSHA 30 General Industry Certification
