Position Title: Business Object Enterprise (BoE) Analyst

Location: San Diego, CA

Duration: Long term contract

Security Clearance: Must possess a DOD Secret clearance

The Analyst shall assess and optimize the Business Intelligence (BI) environment to support information discovery, integration and sharing of information. The Analyst shall define measures, metrics, dashboards and support analytical architecture necessary to monitor, manage and support sound decisions for the enterprise data environment. The Analyst shall analyze the business processes and develop models for subsequent use; develop data models in support of the various applications required. Further, the Analyst shall review documented requirements and present specific design recommendations to address the business and data requirements in terms of viability and impact on existing and new processes. The Analyst shall identify required data elements; define associated metadata and sources to support these and any requirements.

The Analyst must be able to communicate these requirements fluently to Government and other personnel (Knowledge Transfer). The Analyst shall support the Business Objects Enterprise community.

The Analyst shall have up-to-date training to meet Cybersecurity requirements to include but not limited to Security+ and Certified Business Intelligence Professional.

Specific tasks include:

Manage, Maintain and Support Day-to-Day Operations of NDMS, SingleSite, OneNDMS, Data Convergence, Corporate Reporting System (CRS) and Other Initiatives. The contractor shall support development, standardization, testing, and quality assurance and configuration management procedures. Task includes standardization and maintenance of data dictionary, data structures and data repositories.

The Business Objects Enterprise Analyst shall;



  • Contribute to all technical aspects of building and maintaining Business Objects data warehouse for Enterprise-wide reporting of NAVAIR Depot Maintenance Systems (NDMS) applications and supplemental data

  • Create technical specifications for data conversion of Discoverer and Oracle reports to BOE

  • Interface with Data Modeler to build warehouse and tables for supplemental data

  • Review effectiveness of interfaces for accuracy and proper timing with ETL team

  • Develop Universes, and coordinated changes with other Universe Designers

  • Add definitions and source data to all elements of Universes

  • Coordinate efforts with Programmers to write/test scripts for mass data clean-up projects

  • Create, test and monitor reports and charts for local and Enterprise users

  • Research problems using SQL to determine correct source for resolution

  • Process all levels of Life Cycle Management documentation


Summary:

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence for the FRC, this BI and Reporting role will oversee data and reporting for FRC operations and collaborate with senior leadership to provide analytical support of data-driven decision making. This person will also work closely with key executives and stakeholders to deliver essential reporting and data, while providing a vision for enhancing data driven, evidence-based decisions at executive, managerial, and operations levels.



Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor Degree (data science, cognitive science, computer science, engineering, psychology)

  • 5+ years' experience with SAP BOE Systems

  • 5+ years in demonstrated leadership roles managing complex reporting and BI platforms

  • 7+ years of full lifecycle data warehousing experience

  • Experience with SAP BOE and at least one other industry-leading business intelligence platforms, such as Qlik, Tableau, MS Power BI, Cognos, DOMO, or similar modern in-memory BI solution.

  • Strong technical knowledge of data management systems, data modeling, database design, data quality, and data governance

  • Must have significant experience in data warehousing, data visualization, and business intelligence

  • Preferred education in User-Centered Design, Human Computer Interaction or UX Design


Required Skills:



  • Ability to create and modify reports using the Business Objects BI4

  • Ability to crate and modify reports using the Crystal Reports XI

  • Ability to create and modify Dashboards using the Business Objects BI4 tools (Xcelsius)

  • Experience in providing Mobile Dashboard Solutions

  • Ability to create and modify new and existing report using Crystal Reports XI

  • Ability to perform End User trainings and assist with the development of online training

  • Mentor development teams in universe and report design, development and implementation

  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse data modeling principles and techniques (Kimball is preferred)

  • Ability to comprehend and develop complex SQL /PLSQL in an Oracle environment

  • Support troubleshooting of issues within the Business Intelligence environment

  • SAP Business Intelligence (Business Objects) 4.x (Webi, Crystal, Xcelsius)

  • Oracle SQL /PLSQL

  • TOAD and SQLNavigator

  • Informatica (ETL Tool)

  • CA Erwin (Data Modeling tool)

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
