New Journey AI is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer with our client in their San Francisco, CA location. This is a 6+ month contract position.
Description: We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to help us build and maintain Corporate Networks and to deliver production and development services.
Responsibilities:
Maintain standards-based network designs for company's office and backbone infrastructure
Help maintain our Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, enterprise wireless and access equipment
Create, manage and maintain all Corporate Network infrastructure documentation
Work with internal IT resources to troubleshoot internal user issues
Work with security teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
Proactively identify capacity bottlenecks and plan/execute solutions to mitigate them
Manage and resolve issues with ISPs, transit providers, and peering interconnects
Participate in Network Operations On-call rotation.
Help Build, Maintain and Automate the global network
Requirements:
7+ years of hands-on network operations
Strong hands-on knowledge of IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, ASA
Strong hands-on knowledge of L2 and L3 networking protocols like STP,MST,RSTP,OSPF,BGP,IS-IS
Strong knowledge and experience with troubleshooting network layer issues
Strong knowledge and experience with TCP and UDP protocols
Strong hands-on knowledge of Stateful Firewall technologies
Experience working with Monitoring and alerting systems
Experience working in Corporate and/or Production Infrastructure Environments
Experience building and supporting Enterprise Wireless Networks
Experience working with ISPs to support internet connections
Solid project management skills and the ability to comfortably interact with staff at various levels
Able to work as a W2 employee of New Journey AI (no corp to corp)
Bonus Points:
AWS or Google Cloud Platform certifications, or experience with deploying and maintaining software defined cloud networking,
primarily in Google Cloud Platform and AWS
Programming experience in Ansible, Python, Bash, Golang, C, etc. for Network Automation
Experience with SD-WAN implementations
Experience with container networking solutions
Experience with multiple site buildout
Experience with multi-vendor solutions
Strong experience building, maintaining and operating network monitoring systems
