Business Generation & Marketing Lead is an integral contributor to this team, driving localized marketing and communications strategy and new business development within the region, markets and business segments.

Job Summary:

Working closely with our Infrastructure, Advisory and Major Program Directors and business development professionals, senior leadership across North America, and other Turner & Townsend colleagues, the

Business Generation & Marketing Lead, Major Programs will be responsible for developing, planning and implementing a marketing and business development program to expand Turner & Townsend’s brand profile and market share within the region. This role can be based in either our New York City or San Francisco office and will provide support to offices across the North America region. When it is safe to do so, it is expected that the Lead will be present in the office on a weekly basis, with occasional hybrid working available (2 days/week maximum).

To be successful, the incumbent must be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of marketing and communications planning, effectively lead the proposal/bid preparation process, and demonstrate strong project management skills. The professional will nurture highly collaborative internal client relationships with segment/service line professionals and SMEs to drive an integrated approach.

Specific responsibilities associated with the

Business Generation & Marketing Lead, Major Programs role include:

Business development and key account management:

·Promote and lead Turner & Townsend’s ‘Bid to Win’ process for all pursuits across Infrastructure, Advisory and Major Programs, ensuring engaged participation from directors and SMEs to achieve a high-quality deliverable.

·Partner with client-facing professionals to develop winning marketing strategies for new business development – supporting the strategy, development and production of custom proposals, bids, presentations, and other client deliverables.

·Compile and vet existing materials and draft original content for proposals and client materials, identifying compelling copy, themes/concepts and salient points that demonstrate value and expertise.

·Provide overall creative design direction, while adhering to corporate design/branding standards.

·Create eye-catching graphics that translate complex processes and approaches into easy-to-understand images and charts.

·Control deliverables from inception to delivery and communicate successfully with internal team during the lifecycle of an assignment to ensure compliance with deadlines and requirements.

·Support key client/account management programs, working closely with the key client leads on localized marketing plans and cross-selling opportunities aligned with project/revenue targets.

·Ensure client care interviews take place and are logged into our systems.

Marketing planning:

·Support the annual North America marketing and business development planning process.

·Advise technical teams on the right marketing activities to achieve their objectives; develop and maintain marketing strategies for current and future clients.

Market intelligence and content management:

·Support the production of marketing materials for relevant in-region execution of global campaigns and the development of localized copy for marketing collateral and Turner & Townsend global publications.

·Provide hands-on drafting and project management support for the development of a wide range of sales and marketing materials, including case studies, capability documents, service descriptions, team CVs/resumes, etc.

·Contribute best-in-class materials, content and final deliverables to internal content repositories (CMS).

·Support internal marketing initiatives and respond to requests for new marketing material and resources.

Communications and events (in conjunction with the North America Communications team):

·As it relates to Infrastructure, Advisory and Major Programs, support the internal and external communications plan/s for North America.

·Support external media relations campaigns, working with Head of Communications to identify opportunities, draft press releases and secure interviews; track related media exposure.

·Support and manage internal and external networking events; coordinate with North America team to allocate appropriate resources and support.

·Manage local sponsorships and memberships to maximize engagement and ensure/measure ROI.

Reporting:

·Manage the various business development and client databases (e.g., CMD) at the local level, ensuring staff are aware of them, using them properly and that the data within them is accurate.

·Contribute to regional-level Board reports, performance reviews and summaries, as needed.

·Provide ongoing reporting and tracking of business development and marketing performance as directed.

Other:

·Act as guardian of the Turner & Townsend brand ensuring consistency across the region.

·Champion global/North America programs, deliverables and initiatives across the region.

·Quality controls: Ensure all work is performed on time, cost effectively and according to Turner & Townsend’s high-quality standards.

·Complete marketing/BG inductions with all new staff, making them aware of regional strategy, tools, platforms, and resources.

·Assist regional and global business generation and marketing teams, as needed.

Qualifications

To provide the support that Turner & Townsend’s client-facing professionals require, the incumbent will need 7-10 years of marketing and business development experience, preferably within a B2B professional services environment. Required competencies include:

·Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or the equivalent in prior marketing and business development experience.

·Minimum of 7 years of experience across both bid management and corporate marketing/communications, preferably within the construction consultancy, advisory, legal, architecture, or real estate industries.

·Experience in drafting and managing large-scale government (federal or local) and/or public sector bids is preferable.

·A comprehensive knowledge of the construction consultancy/advisory business that adds value or strategically enhances deliverables and initiatives.

·An ability to identify critical messages and unique selling points, and clearly and effectively communicate them, and to modify standard text to meet the specific requirements of each new assignment.

·An ability to contribute strategic concepts for business and project initiatives and successfully execute those concepts.

·Excellent project management, organizational and problem solving skills, with a proven ability to implement/enforce procedures and to influence at all levels.

·Should be a self-starter and possess a strong ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to tight deadlines, with an ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.

·Superior written, analytical and oral communications skills; very detail oriented with an eye for design and graphics.

·Creative thinker with an ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way, both written and verbally.

·Proactive senior-level performer displaying the utmost in integrity, with a solid work ethic.

·An ability to demonstrate consistently the expectations outlined in Turner & Townsend’s Model of Excellence.

·Strong PC skills required.

As bids/proposals are drafted in PowerPoint, expertise in this software is mandatory. Expert in the use of Microsoft Office package, especially MSWord, Excel and Power Point. Creative Suite proficiency desirable.
