They leverage existing shading networks or construct new ones using a variety of nodes and procedural effects. They set up Lookdev lighting environments for context, generate validation renders, and provide appropriate layers for compositing. Work is subject to close supervisory review at frequent intervals. Scripting skills are useful to optimize workflows. Modeling and texture painting experience are extremely valuable but not required.What You’ll DoTroubleshoot flow of data in/out of department
Escalate tech issues to appropriate show or tech group
Quality control of files and scenes from outsource vendors
HDRI environment map stitching and organization
Documentation
Software testing
Render tuning
Modifying and running existing turntables
Potential need to work across multiple projects/productions
Entry level shot work, time permitting, which might include:
Constructing look-developed objects, effects, elements or characters.
Lighting simple creatures and rudimentary A over B compositing ability.
Tweaking monolithic materials and performing basic check-ins into asset management system for basic cg assets (props, plants, set dressing, traffic, vehicles)
What We’re Looking ForBachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent experience with either Maya, Katana, 3DS Max, Houdini, Blender, or other 3D software
Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary thinking
Strong communication and follow-through
Demo reel of 3D design or lighting work
Basic lighting & look development
Nice to have:
Ability to work under pressure and commit to deadlines
Prior 3D design
Renderman/Vray
Mari
Nuke
Linux and Python/Lua scripting experience
