Job Description

Our Developer Experience (DX) team within Device Software Engineering, looks across the software development life cycle to find opportunities to help speed up delivery and improve the quality of our Hardware and Software products. We are looking for someone to build and architect the next generation of our Python testing framework for Square hardware products. You will report to our Engineering Manager, Developer Experience.

You will:

  • Build and own Python tooling and frameworks to accelerate hardware development
  • Create and own new tools to debug and develop Square's hardware products
  • Be a technical mentor for other engineers on DX

Qualifications

You have:

  • 8+ years of software development experience
  • Expertise in Python development, packaging, release and best practices
  • The desire to work across team boundaries with your partners such as; Android and Embedded Product teams

Even better if you have experience in any of the following:

  • Pytest
  • Designing and developing automated tests and CI processes for hardware products
  • Developing virtualized build environments for developing hardware products
