You’ll help build the systems, products, and tools that power Twitter. At the scale our systems operate, this requires not only producing and using highly performant algorithms and data structures, but also solving complex problems involving distributed systems and emergent behavior of service-oriented architectures. You’ll work with the services and infrastructure that connect hundreds of millions of active Twitter users to real-time information about what’s relevant in their lives and the world we live in. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, user researchers, and more in our offices around the world. You will ultimately design a pathway to ship an experience that both moves and improves our user experience and business metrics.
You might work on:
Building a product that uses machine learning to generate recommendations that help businesses run successful marketing campaigns on Twitter. This includes Ad Products, Product Engineering and more!
Developing core features of Twitter.com and core consumer experience. This includes timelines, tweets, notifications, onboarding process, search, trends, topics and interests, discovery experience, health engineering and more!

You will meet the Hiring Managers and folks from the team, and we’ll help you explore the awesome opportunities Twitter has to offer. We’d like to learn more about you before making a match. Our goal is to ensure you have exposure into teams at Twitter hiring for your skill-set.
We are keen to welcome people from all backgrounds. You don’t need a computer science degree to apply. In fact, many people on the team don't have a computer science degree (or any degree for that matter.) We use take-home code samples (that are real-world and practical) to help us understand if you have the right kind of problem-solving skills for the job.
2+ years of software development experience (we are hiring for all levels!)
Experience designing and/or developing software systems
Demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages or prior experience in a JVM-based or functional programming language
Familiar with standard software engineering methodology, e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation
