Job DescriptionVMWare is looking for someone in Sales Operations to define and develop account and territory planning methodologies and processes, and ultimately establish the worldwide governance and process framework for territory planning.The VMWare Territory and Account Planning Senior Manager works within the worldwide Sales Planning & Incentives Team, in the Sales Operations organization, and will lead efforts to optimize territory methodologies and establish globally consistent processes that can be configured in Anaplan.Do you have a strong experience in territory planning, as well as a solid data and analytics background, and desire to lead change? You will be able to effectively manage and design cross-functional processes and serve as a business partner across Sales Leadership, Sales Planning, Business Intelligence, IT and broader sales operations team. You will be an influential member of Sales Operations that would not only have the opportunity to define new processes and methodologies but also be given opportunities to develop and execute new ideas that enable the organization’s success.Primary ResponsibilitiesYou will lead key initiatives for the Territory and Account Planning COE within the Global Sales Operations Function.Near TermSupport the territory planning process and execution worldwide
Document and analyze worldwide end to end processes, tools, and owners
Define future state processes and methodologies that can be scaled across
Design and optimize standard global territory planning processes
Support definition and management of standard worldwide account records
Mid TermPartner with segmentation, quota and compensation teams to integrate analytics and support end to end customer centric sales planning
Establish territory governance mechanisms to ensure timely delivery of sales territories
Define detailed requirements and partner with the technology team to implement a globally standard approach in Anaplan
Long TermWorldwide processes and methodologies enabled in Anaplan and in tune with fully integrated end to end sales planning process
Deliver comprehensive territory methodology, governance and analytics to key stakeholders to drive the territory planning process
Define key performance metrics and reporting for territory to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
RequirementsThe ideal candidate should have:Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Finance; MBA preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
Working knowledge of Anaplan useful
Solid Business understanding with an ability to translate business needs into a set of workable, specific requirements
Financial planning, forecasting, territory planning and quota setting experience
Collaborations skills and ability to manage a wide range of project initiatives or tasks
Understanding of sales compensation plans and alignment to territory planning and quota setting
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Strong problem solving and process management skills
Exceptional planning and organizational skills
Experience in process mapping/ documentation
High attention to detail and accuracy
Enthusiastic with a passion for change and efficiency
Project Management skills are an advantage
