Position: Network Security Architect

Duration: 12+ Months (With 2 Years of extension)

Location: San Francisco, CA

Minimum Job-Specific Skills/Qualifications Required (in order of relative importance):

  • Minimum of 10 years of technical experience with network infrastructure, information security architecture and application system deployment projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience with state government IT projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a government agency and interfacing with other government agencies or entities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical experience with various data center environments.
  • Experience working on multiple simultaneous IT projects throughout the entire life cycle from design to deployment.
  • Experience managing technical projects, including conflict resolution, issue escalations, status reporting and resource management.
  • Knowledgeable of enterprise network infrastructure design concepts such as
  • Multi-tier application system design
  • Client/server system architecture
  • System security policies and procedures
  • Datacenter technology infrastructure
  • Web-based application deployment
  • Multi-vendor platform integration
  • PKI administration
  • Infrastructure capacity planning
  • Telecommunication infrastructure
  • Networking concepts: routing, switching, security, remote access, proxy
  • Cloud migration
  • Ability to convert business requirements into technical design and implementation plan.
  • Ability to analyze issues from system documentation and recommend solutions.
  • High level of technical writing experience.
  • Excellent oral, written, analytical and communication skills with the ability to lead a technical discussion to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Excellent presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, including creating and presenting executive summaries to management and technical committees.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and conflict resolution skills.


  • Additional Skills/Qualifications Desired:

    General:
  • Understanding of courtroom operations and workflow.
  • Conceptualize and integrate systems within an enterprise-wide information systems architecture.
  • Use software development tools, languages, and report generators.
  • Prepare effective written materials for purposes of user and system documentation.
  • Use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
  • Resolve complex technical issues.
  • Explain technical issues to senior management in a non-technical manner.
  • Samples of relevant published work are desired such as technical implementation plans, architectural as-built documentation, test plans, the scope of work, project summary sheets, high-level network diagrams, etc.

  • Technical:
  • Exposure and experience with Cloud computing
  • Conceptual understanding of Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM and Oracle Cloud Platforms
  • A/V Industry Knowledge to include troubleshooting and design
  • Familiarity with closed circuit and networked A/V
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot network and systems infrastructure
  • VOIP experience
  • Experience with video remote technologies and infrastructures.
