Responsibilities
Enhance and maintain our data access layer (services) that sits between our application services and our OLAP and OLTP datastores.
Enhance and maintain our framework support services
Design, build, and unit-test object-oriented, scalable, and maintainable services on top of the Hadoop ecosystem and RDBMS and data warehouses
Actively monitor, optimize, tune, and configure the service performance
Requirements
BS/MS in Computer Science or related discipline
Significant development experiences for microservices in Java
At least 5-7+ years of experience in Java/J2EE and related technologies with solid understanding of design principles
Experience with Kafka, YARN, and/or Spark Strongly Preferred
Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Strong ability to mentor/coach junior team members as well as experience in influencing senior leadership
Familiarity with most of the following: RDBMS, RESTful API, Hibernate, HBase, Phoenix, Hive, and Presto
Critical thinking and problem solving
