Role: Tableau SME
Location: San Jose, CA
Type: Contract

Job Description:

• 6+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Reporting/Visualization tool administration (preferably, Tableau), and more than 12 years of work experience in full cycle implementation of data warehousing, business intelligence solutions.
• Administer and support a multi-tier Tableau infrastructure including upgrade analysis and planning, security administration, release management, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and general systems maintenance
• Experiment with new features and enhancements released by Tableau, and bring them into the platform & organization. (This role involves on-call support that might require off-hours or weekend work. Likely 2-4 hours, twice a month)
• Provide hands-on production support. Identify and research problem trends and work with internal or external subject matter experts to correct and proactively prevent further problems by recommending and/or implementing bug-fixes, application enhancements, customer training, business process changes or other measures.
• Help users setup their Sites and access in Tableau Server
• Collaborate with end users, project stakeholders and support partners to identify reporting / visualization needs and goals

Desirable

• Ability and interest to work with a variety of data integration technologies (ETL and SQL) to solve problems, and must have a background that demonstrates this ability.
• Strong database development including proficiency in ETL tools and SQL programming
• Hands on experience with the Relational Database design and SQL language
