Summary of Responsibilities:

The NPI Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the manufacturing implementation of new customer products including individual components and electromechanical assemblies. The NPI Manufacturing Engineer will provide direct engineering support on new product introduction to program managers, customers, suppliers and production teams.

• The NPI Manufacturing Engineer:
• Provides direct engineering support to Program Managers, Customers, Suppliers, Manufacturing
• Engineers and Production Staff in the design, qualification, documentation and introduction of new products, including team leader responsibility.
• Interfaces directly with customer engineering teams at the discretion of Management to provide guidance on manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability feedback.
• Works closely with management staff at the Director level to assist in capacity analysis and growth plans related to new projects and drive cost reduction initiatives.
• Escalates and resolves manufacturability issues with new products in accordance with new product introduction project schedules.
• Leads internal groups and committees and engages external resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet cost and quality objectives.
• Manages technical aspects of allocated projects from design reviews, quotation and prototypeassembly through production.
• Develops, implements, monitors and continuously improves new production processes, tooling,
• testing, sourcing, and process control while ensuring manufacturing capability and efficiency.
• Drives investigation of product, component and material issues or supply constraints and assists in
• Applies lean manufacturing methodologies to design, layout, and workflow of new assembly lines and work cells for new products.

Job Requirements:


Requires a 4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related field, at least 5 years of work experience in Product Development, New Product Introduction or Manufacturing Engineering. Additional experience may be substituted for part of the education requirement, or advanced degree can be
substituted for experience.

• Experience working on New Product Introduction, design prototyping and troubleshooting.
• Experience with NPI processes (process qualifications/validations, FMEA, First Articles,Design of
• Experiments and engineering change requests).
• Manufacturing and Process Engineering experience developing and implementing new manufacturing
• processes and supporting mid volume production (ECNs, BOMs, work instructions,
• equipment/tooling/fixture/test development, troubleshooting).
• Experience with Robotics and Automation, Electronic, Safety, and/or Electromechanical testing.
• Knowledge of plant layout design and assembly line layout design for efficient workflow.
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, PLM/PDM product management systems and 3D CAD
• Strong foundation in design fabrication and assembly of complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Demonstrated ability to represent the company to its customers and suppliers with strong written,
• verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work on, manage and drive multiple projects at once, individually or
• with teams. Demonstrated ability to understand engineering documentation and communicate technical data
