With a staff of approximately 450, reaching peaks of nearly 600 with seasonal hires, a budget of $54.3 million, and a current governing board of 27, this venerable, fully-accredited, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit addresses some of the most pressing community needs – homelessness, generational poverty, immigration, inequality, hunger, aging in isolation, and communicable disease to name a few – with compassion and services of highest quality.Associate MFT/Associate Social Worker: Therapist/Case Manager PositionSt. Vincent's School for Boys serves boys in the child welfare system whose behaviors and family situations have kept them from achieving successful outcomes and permanency. The mission of St. Vincent's is to interrupt the multiple placements and serially disrupted attachments that characterize the lives of these children and youth. St. Vincent's provides residential treatment and mental health services to over 40 boys, ages 6-18, who are referred from county agencies throughout Northern California. The boys live in a rural setting in four residential houses which are staffed 24 hours a day, on the St. Vincent’s campus. A combination of therapeutic, educational, equestrian, and recreational programs address the multiple and diverse needs of each child.The staff psychotherapist is a member of the Clinical Department and reports to the Senior Clinical Supervisor. The therapist is responsible for evaluation, assessment, therapy, and case management. In addition to the provision of individual, group and family therapy, the therapist is responsible for treatment planning and documentation.Staff therapists are in the agency between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Modifications can be made to accommodate families or high school students who need evening hours with rare weekends if the need for weekend family therapy or outreach exists.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPSYCHOTHERAPY AND SUPERVISIONParticipate in monthly Child, Family Team meetings to direct client’s provision of services.

Psychotherapy as indicated in the treatment plan; generally, 2 times per week per client.

Family therapy and collateral work as needed.

Weekly individual supervision for one hour and group supervision for 2 hours.

Regular and timely authorization documentation

Regular participation in the QA activities of the mental health department

Regular meetings with residential staff to discuss case progress

Documentation of all therapy and counseling sessions in progress notes. Therapists are expected to bill for at least 50% of their time in the agency.

CASE REVIEW AND MANAGEMENTCommunicate with County Social Workers and families to co-ordinate on-going treatment.

Attend monthly client rounds meetings to discuss medication management and other treatment issues with staff and consulting psychiatrist

Meet with teachers as needed

Attend IEP meetings

Coordinate home visits and all other out-of-agency visits – e.g., appearances in court

Demonstrated proficiency in MediCal approved clinical documentation is preferred.
