Network / Systems Engineer needed for a contract to hire opportunity with our banking client in Santa Ana. JOB DESCRIPTION
Oversees and coordinates the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Company s local, wide, wireless, Internet and Intranet networks and telephone and Voice Over IP (VoIP) systems); maintains file servers, routers, firewalls, laptops, network or stand-alone computers, or any other hardware components; ensures the highest levels of security and stability are maintained to protect customer deposits, Company assets and staff.
Troubleshoots user issues or inquiries, such as password resets, hardware problems or software support questions; administers the Company s information technology case logging system to ensure technical issues are properly reported and resolved within established quality service level guidelines; responds to inquiries and refers issues to the appropriate department or person and exhibits the necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved.
Performs routine system or user administrative tasks, such as system specification changes or the addition, change, or deletion of employees on the Company s various systems and networks; ensures necessary documentation is attained and properly authorized for such requests; originates and maintains system and user files.
Reviews various reports and performs daily callback of system or user changes.
Participates in the evaluation of vendor hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment products; recommends purchases consistent with the Company's short- and long-term objectives.
Participates as a member of the Company s incident response team in the event of a technology emergency or breach in confidential information.
Assures audit compliance and procedure quality control through internal and external reviews; recommends and initiates corrective actions; ensures system resources are in compliance with established Company policies, procedures and state and federal regulations.
Responsible for analyzing and deploying hardware and software updates and other patch management directives.
Maintains relationships with vendors and various outside professional information technology organizations in the maintenance and purchase of network equipment, software and accessories.
Acts as a primary resource for problems or unusual situations encountered with the Company s information technology resources.
May participate in the development, enhancement, and support of electronic or Internet banking products and services; may accompany branch personnel on customer sales calls to assist in product or service presentations; installs product or service software on customer computer systems; trains customers in the use of products or services.
Maintains accurate and current information technology policies, procedures and related documentation, such as installation settings, specifications, diagrams, and floor plans.
Plan and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data.
Stay up to date on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, to anticipate security breaches.
Create, test and implement network disaster recovery plans.
Perform risk assessments and test data processing systems.
Maintain and monitor firewalls, data encryption and other security measures.
Research new technologies that will effectively protect a network to prevent.
Follows policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supports the company s goals and values.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma required; Bachelor s Degree preferred.
5+ years related work experience in information systems management that is inclusive of the above responsibilities.
Advanced skills in information technology operations, voice and data communications, troubleshooting techniques, user and software support; including but not limited to, desktop applications and network administrative programs and resources.
Experience in the Banking industry preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Exchange. Microsoft 365 conversion - a plus.
Current Cisco CCNA or CCNP security certification.
Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services (Cisco ISE highly preferred).
Prior experience in the banking and/or financial services industry preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to provide leadership.
Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules on a short-term and long-term basis.
Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management.
Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed.
Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties.
