Role: Technical Complaint Specialist Location: Santa Ana, CA Duration: Contract Job Description: Responsibilities
Data modelling capabilities including designing effective BI data models
Perform UX design activities and Power BI navigation features (e.g. bookmarks, drill-through) to guide end-users through a data-driven story
Developing calculations in DAX which are accurate and performant on large datasets
Perform required transformations in Power BI query editor
Proactively monitor and evaluate the impact of monthly Power BI releases
Publishing reports via the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps and monitoring usage/data refreshes/security access
Understand business requirements and be able to relate these to the supporting system requirements producing simple technical specifications for the work to be done
Work with all areas of the business to understand data structures, determine data definitions and evaluate the accuracy of data elements
Working with our clients to manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and fixing any defects identified
Shaping an approach for governance and deployment of Power BI, including advising on licensing, distribution/sharing, training and support
Create Azure Analysis Services models and Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or graduate degree and 5+ years of related work experience
3+ years’ experience as a Power BI developer
Aptitude writing T-SQL statements and an understanding of logical and physical data modeling
Significant experience with Data Management, Business Intelligence and Analytics concepts including: Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Data Cubes, Data Quality and Data Profiling
Data Governance, Master Data Management and Metadata Management
Deep understanding of security as it pertains to data access, scope, and distribution of reports and dashboards
Experience creating a range of documentation that will include technical documents, workflows, diagrams, business requirements documents and other requested documentation
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Business Intelligence tools is preferred
Experience using R, Python and Machine Learning is a plus
