Summary
Under the supervision of the site administrator, provide accounting services that support the functioning of an educational non-profit organization. Chief responsibilities include accounting entries, bank recs, student billing, cash receipts management and assisting with reports. The position requires a high level of initiative, attention to detail, confidentiality and independent decision making. Part time (15-20 hours) available.
Qualifications:
Bachelorâs degree required, accounting major preferred
A minimum of 4-6 years of experience, with strong technical skills in accounting/bookkeeping
Accounting software expertise and high proficiency with Excel
Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated
Duties and Responsibilities:
Record all the schoolâs financial transactions in a timely manner for accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll, etc.
Reconcile all bank and investment accounts monthly
Manage tuition payments via FACTS tuition management system
Prepare check payments
Run credit card payments
Responsible for all journal entries
On a biweekly basis input payroll. Enter hourly employees into the system and administer benefit deductions as necessary
Liaise with insurance companies, Pai financial services
Maintain employee paid benefit time records
Handle confidential information with total discretion
Desirable:
Not-for-profit fund accounting experience
Quickbooks experience
The ability and willingness to cover a broad range of Business Office duties and the flexibility to respond to the challenges of being an integral part of a small and busy office
A commitment to learning the entire scope of Business Office duties
Effective written and oral communication skills
A love of children and school environments
The wisdom, experience, and sensitivity to effectively communicate with and support all of the schoolâs constituencies: parents, students, faculty and staff, alumni
