Providence School seeks a Finance and Business Operations Associate responsible for facilitating the operations of the school’s business office, ensuring the school is able to carry out its stated mission. The Finance and Business Operations Associate works directly under the Chief Financial Officer and is a member of the administration and lead staff team.

The ideal candidate is someone who is competent in the field of finance, professional in all interactions, a natural problem solver and strategic thinker, focused on results, possesses strong integrity and sound judgment, and holds a sincere and consistent Christian faith.

Primary duties include but are not limited to support with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, human resources, and insurance administration.

The Finance and Business Operations Associate will:

1. Have direct responsibility for various accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, making deposits, recording bank transactions, and adjusting tuition payment schedules.

2. Process payroll twice per month using Paychex. This includes review of time cards, calculation of overtime wages, and other related matters.

3. Serve as a Human Resources representative to answer faculty and staff questions about HR policies such as leaves of absence, and wage and hour matters, and administer staff benefits. The Associate will keep current on HR laws and regulations.

4. Assist the Business Office and Head of School with preparation and reporting on the annual budget, as needed.

5. Assist with facilities management, as needed, including cleaning service, gardening service, capital projects and compliance issues.

6. Assist in the administration of policies and claims related to the school’s various insurance policies for workers compensation, liability, auto, D&O and other policies.

7. Assist with other responsibilities of the Business Office as assigned.

An undergraduate degree in accounting, business administration, educational administration, finance, human resources, or other related discipline is preferred. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of broad-based finance experience. Solid understanding and intermediate or higher level of skill with Quickbooks (or similar software), experience with processing payroll, handling personnel issues, and intermediate to advanced knowledge of G­Suite tools such as Google Docs and Google Sheets is strongly preferred. Familiarity with independent schools or other non-profit, mission-driven institutions is a plus.

This is a full-time position with benefits. The target start date is in July or August 2019.
