Its mission is to integrate art into the lives of people through internationally recognized exhibitions special programs, as well as the thoughtful presentation of its permanent collection.
Join in on the excitement of our upcoming Impressionist Revolution from Monet to Matisse and Encore Exhibitions from September, 2025 through February 9, 2026 and our other highly anticipated exhibitions in beautiful downtown Santa Barbara. We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, dependable person with good customer service skills to serve as Visitor Services Associate during our exciting upcoming Impressionist Revolution and Encore Exhibitions. The temporary subject to the Museum’s at-will employment policies.
This essential role is a facilitator between visitors and the Museum ensuring members and visitors have an enjoyable, engaging, and memorable experience. Your duties will include greeting visitors, providing information about the Museum’s exhibitions, hours and events, collecting admission fees, and selling memberships.
Requires High School diploma or equivalent and excellent public relations skills. One to three years previous cashier experience preferred; knowledge of or interest in art/art history is desirable. Requires some evening, holiday and/or weekend hours when the Museum is open to the public.
The position reports to the Visitor Experience and Store Manager
Schedule may include weekends and holiday or variable scheduling may be required, up to 19 hours per week
$19.90 per hour
- Up to 40 hours of paid sick leave
- Temporary Status is not eligible for other Museum benefits
