Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara is seeking facilitators for our summer camp program at our Santa Barbara, Goleta Valley, and Teen Center locations.

Through research-based programs, led by trained mentoring professionals, Girls Inc. girls learn to be confident and embrace positive decision-making to take charge of their health and well-being, and achieve academic, personal, and career goals.
Summer Camp Facilitator Essential Job Functions Include:
Creating, preparing for, and facilitating daily hands-on and intentional activities within our Core Essential Services (Healthy Living, Academic Enrichment and Support, Life Skills)
o Content areas include: art, STEM, cooking, athletics, creative movement, performing arts, gardening, empowerment, outdoor adventures
Ensuring girls safety both physically and emotionally though active supervision while they participate in structured program activities, offsite field trips, lunch and snack time, and informal program time
Being a mentor and leader setting a positive example and role model for the girls
Participating in staff trainings, meetings, and events
Maintaining organization and cleanliness of programming areas, resources, and supplies
Creating a pro-girl environment
Interacting with families in a positive and welcoming way
Minimum Requirements:
Experience working with youth in a structured educational setting
12 college level units in early childhood education or any of the following substitutes: sociology, psychology, art, music, dance, drama, recreation
Ability to pass cirminal background check or clean criminal record
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening
Vaccinations as required by State law for licensed child care facilities (Pertussis and Measles immunization.
Flu vaccine recommended, but optional)
Strong communication skills and ability and desire to work as a member of a diverse and dynamic team
Position Logistics:
Summer Camp Operates June 17th- August 9thstaff must be available to work all 8 weeks
Monday- Fridaystaff must be able to work all 5 days
Shifts Either 7:30am-4:00pm or 11:00am-6:00pm
Mandatory Staff Trainings (can be flexible around school final exams)

¦ Monday June 10th Friday June 14th 9:00am 5:00pm
¦ First Aid & CPR offered Tuesday June 4th or Saturday June 29th 9:00am 5:00pm
Pay:
$13-15 depending on experience and education
