Description:Facilitates care of patients by providing clerical support, coordinating activities, and communicating effectively.Responsible for completion of unit competency assessments, and if appropriate, annual education review, CPR, and renewal of license by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy.Clerical - Facilitates care of patients by providing clerical support to the Nursing Unit.Institutes and maintains patient records according to policy. Correctly completes admission, transfers, discharges and death procedures.Demonstrate competency in the use of Hospital Information Systems. Orders patient tests and treatments accurately and schedules in correct sequence; transcribes information legibly, completely and accurately on all forms. Uses basic medical terminology correctlyMaintains logs, files, reports and packets specific to the unit.Assist in meeting patient needs by answering intercom, providing information and assistance when appropriate and summoning nursing help according to priority of patient request. Keeps in close communication with charge nurse/nursing staff.Demonstrates courteous, effective and efficient communication on the phone and in person with all staff, patients, physicians and visitors. Able to handle stressful situations appropriately.Maintains confidentiality of patients. Solves minor problems (patient care, supplies and equipment, relationships)
