Direct Relief is seeking a SAP Specialist in the areas of Sales & Distribution, Finance & Controlling, Warehouse Management and Materials Management. Applicants should ideally be skilled in at least 2 of these domains.

Primary Purpose
As part of a small but seasoned in-house team, the SAP specialist will manage, support, and enhance Direct Relief’s SAP template, working closely with users to resolve issues and develop new solutions. With a focus on increased efficiency and productivity, the SAP specialist will gather business requirements, propose standard SAP solutions where suitable, design enhancements, test, deploy and stabilize. The position spans break-fix, production support, minor enhancements, and major projects.
Direct Relief is somewhat unique within organizations running SAP, given its relatively small headcount (100) and broad implementation (MM, FI, CO, WM, SD, CRM). This allows the SAP team the opportunity to work across a wide scope of processes and modules, developing all-important cross-module integration skills. While the focus is primarily on SAP, the role also involves supporting bolt-on systems (Corevist eCommerce, Lucas WM) and potentially other applications (MS Power Platform, Qlik). The position requires solid technical skills along with the ability to work closely with users.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance Enterprise Core Components (ECC) template running FI, CO, FM, SD, WM, IM, MM and CRM.
• Resolve production support tickets involving configuration issues, enhancement faults, data errors, standard SAP bugs, etc.
• Lead or perform key role in major SAP projects (e.g. revamping of CRM template, implementation of DSCSA product serialization solution, etc.)
• Gather business and operational requirements
• Perform business process reengineering, geared towards productivity gains, automation and improved controls
• Develop functional specifications for custom enhancements
• Update SAP configuration to implement or improve functionalities
• Develop and manage execution of test scenarios, test cases and system integration testing
• Participate in development of user training, procedures, and documentation manuals
• Collaborate with basis team to resolve system issues, identify, and implement OSS notes, etc.
• Conduct knowledge transfer and training sessions with staff.
• Develop strong understanding of policies and compliance related to enterprise IT systems
• Work with team to ensure continuous commitment to quality and adherence to policies and guidelines
• Participate in Information Technology strategic planning
• Analyze business requests and work with various technical staff members to determine possible solutions.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and software to meet user needs.

• SAP FI, CO, SD, MM/IM, WM, CRM

Skills

• Proficient in relevant SAP modules.
• Solid understanding of other business systems with a desire to become proficient in those over time.
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint and other office applications.
• Thorough working knowledge of testing practices and application debugging and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of functional experience with SAP.
• Deep knowledge of SAP, across FI, CO, SD, MM/IM, WM, CRM: Ideally at least 2 modules, with 3+ full cycle implementations
• BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related field preferred
