Under the direction of the Food Safety & Compliance Manager, the Food Safety & Compliance Associate will assist in implementing our food safety and quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives. What Will You Be Doing?
Assists the department in investigating and reporting product recalls
Responsible for inspecting products for quality assurance and maintaining hold tags
Support the Food Safety Manager in processing donations in compliance with policies and procedures
Track and assist with Buy American Program documents
Assists in internal audits and corrective actions/tracking
Responsible for inspection of storage trailers
Potential to obtain PCQI and HACCP certification (within six months)
What Experience, Skills and Attributes Will You Need to Be Successful?
Equivalent experience in food safety or communications
Knowledge of BFC and Retalix (AS400) is a plus
Forklift and pallet jack experience
Strong communication and logical reasoning skills
Strong clerical/data entry skills
Ability to work independently
Experience in date coding, hold procedures, and inventory control
