Montecito Club, located in beautiful Santa Barbara, California, has an immediate opening for a Food and Beverage Manager. The Food and Beverage Manager is a full-time year-round, salaried position responsible for assisting in all front of the house operations.

The Food and Beverage Manager position is suited for an individual with proven success in private club management.

Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for setting and implementing the Club’s service expectations in all Food and Beverage outlets to include dining rooms, bar, lounge and outlets. The position reports to the Clubhouse Manager. Also works closely with the Executive Chef to create and execute Member and Special events.

Candidate Qualifications/Responsibilities

Minimum five years food and beverage management.

Experience in implementing orientation and training programs for service employees. Supervise, coach and counsel staff on service standards, uniform and grooming policies to ensure Member satisfaction.

Assures that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost controls are in place.

Mentor and coach all service staff and ensures the team understands the Club and Departmental Vision/Mission Statement.

Personally, and consistently touch member tables to ensure service standards are exceeded. Build relationships with Members, Guests & Club team members.

Ensures all legal requirements are consistently adhered to including wage and hour, federal, state, and/or local laws related to alcoholic beverages.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.

Schedules all service staff and manages the department’s staffing needs. Audits and approves weekly service payroll.

Should be proficient in POS systems, Word, Excel.

Ability to implement, execute and control inventory procedures.

Monitors purchasing and receiving procedures for products and supplies to ensure proper quality, quantity and cost.

Wine knowledge a plus.

Addresses member and guest concerns and advises the General Manager and Clubhouse Manager in a timely manner with recommended appropriate actions.

Development and marketing of dining and special events.

Other duties as assigned.

Education Prefer college degree in related field or equivalent experience of at least 5 years.
