Activity Program Assistant

This is a fun job with lots of resident interaction. You will assist the Activities Director by carrying out dynamic "program of life" enrichment opportunities, recreation and entertainment for our residents. Use your background and experience in recreation therapy to improve the life of a senior; our residents appreciate your passion and look forward to meeting you!
Essential Duties:
Assist the Activities Director in developing and carrying out activities calendar.
Initiate Life Enrichment Program for dementia residents including activity programs and dining room assistance.
Maintain resident engagement in meaningful programs specific to the resident's interests and abilities.
Encourage resident nutritional intake, providing cues and feeding where necessary.
Drive vehicle from individual or central loading area to designated locations.
Assist passengers into and out of vehicle.
Carry out various errands for department heads and assist with programs and events as needed.
Help Programs Director purchase and stock supplies, set up for and clean up after events and activities, and run resident events and activities programs.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED (General Educational Development); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must hold and maintain a valid and applicable state drivers' license and a clean, safe driving record.
