Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
⢠Manage denials and appeals between the company and outside payers
⢠Responsible for concurrent utilization review and management of patients within the company
⢠Serve as a liaison for all denial and appeal inquiries
⢠Manage, maintain, and communicate details of denials and appeals to appropriate stakeholders
⢠Identify and report on the categorization of denials
⢠Lead action planning for correction and process changes to eliminate avoidable denials
⢠Report outcomes of utilization review, denials, and appeals
⢠Preside over performance evaluations
⢠Coordinate with other departments
⢠Delegate tasks to members of the team and/or complete tasks as necessary
⢠Ensure that project work and process improvement efforts lead to improved performance and results
⢠Facilitate focus meetings with appropriate representatives
⢠Provide routine education sessions to Patient Financial Services and Patient Access team members
⢠Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
⢠Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Nursing or other related field
⢠Current CA Nursing License
⢠Extensive experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook 2010, Word 2010, and Excel 2010)
⢠Strong attention to detail
⢠Experience with billing, case management, contracts, and documentation
⢠Ability to properly communicate through both oral and written correspondence
⢠Certification in case management (Preferred)
⢠2+ years of direct patient care experience as an RN in an acute care setting
⢠3 years of experience working with denials and appeals, utilization review, and case management
⢠Strong analytic capabilities
⢠Ability to follow directions and work independently
Job Description:
This is a great opportunity for anybody in the Santa Barbara area with Nursing and Business experience. This position is Full Time and Direct Hire , with the schedule to be determined upon hire (8 hours/day, 5 days/week). The pay rate for this position will be decided based upon your experience.
