Under general supervision, the Janitor is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of the community per established policies, procedures, Company standards of quality, cleanliness, resident satisfaction, safety and security and regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence and patient confidentiality at all times. As a representative and team member of environmental services department, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction.
Knowledge -
⢠The standard methods, materials, and equipment employed in custodial work and safe work practices relating to custodial equipment and cleaning agents;
⢠Knowledge of floor cleaning machines.
⢠Methods, materials, tools and standard practices for cleaning and maintaining public buildings
⢠Preparation, use, and disposal of chemical cleaning agents
⢠Appropriate use of cleaning agent for varied surface types
⢠Safety procedures when cleaning and moving furniture

⢠Necessary skills to operate floor cleaning equipment and other devices related to performing the duties of janitor

Abilities
⢠Follow written and oral instructions
⢠Ability to read, speak and understand English.
⢠To operate, maintain and perform minor repairs to powered custodial equipment including, but not limited to, vacuums, strippers, waxers, buffers, shampoo cleaners and power washers
⢠Operate hand cleaning equipment including, but not limited to, brooms, dust and wet mops, dust pans, and dusters
⢠Replenish supplies, clean offices, change cubicle curtains, clean up spills promptly, pick up soiled linen and trash and utilize wet signs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education -
⢠High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Training -
⢠Minimum of one year previous janitorial/custodial or housekeeping experience preferred.
