This is a Direct Hire Position with BenefitsThis is a full-time Quality Control Inspector for our busy Quality Department in Goleta, California.THE ROLE:Perform receiving inspections of large, heavy, electro-mechanical parts, raw materials and catalog componentsInspect electro-mechanical parts and systems during manufacturing, production and assemblyTest products and materials to ensure conformance to specificationsComplete non-conformance documentation in electronic systemDistribute non-conformance documentation and reports, and follow-up through satisfactory dispositionPerforms receiving inspections of incoming products and materials, including but not limited to catalog components, raw materials, machined parts and chemicals.Inspects parts and systems during manufacturing, production, assembly and test to ensure conformance to specificationsExamines materials and products for surface defects such as cracks, pits and incomplete welds or paint finishes.Records inspection results in written and electronic format; prepares inspection reports.Rejects products, materials and equipment that does not meet specifications; completes and distributes Non-Conformance Report (NCR) documentation and processes parts through Material Review Board (MRB) and the disposition process.Reviews, analyzes and interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, manuals and other materials to determine specifications and inspection procedures; confers with supervisor or engineering staff to enforce quality and reliability standards.Inspects for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics.Operates measuring equipment needed to perform the job (gauges, scales, micrometers, calipers, etc.); keeps calibrated tools up to date.REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)Training in manufacturing inspection and quality control2-4 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with production of heavy electro-mechanical equipment or machinery preferredComputer skills including MS Word and ExcelKnowledge of basic manufacturing operations and proceduresKnowledge of basic machining, welding and assemblyKnowledge of engineering terminologyAbility to read, understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsAbility to perform shop math with speed and accuracyAbility to handle multiple tasks at the same timeGood oral and written English communication skillsLocal candidates will be preferredVolt is an equal opportunity employerZIP2019P
