Transition House is dedicated to the solution of family homelessness in the Santa Barbara community.
Capable and motivated families with children are offered life tools and respectful, non-sectarian residential services designed to alleviate poverty and restore self-sufficiency and dignity.
By offering emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, homelessness prevention services, and comprehensive programs for children, Transition House takes a holistic approach to ending the cycle of poverty and homelessness for Santa Barbara families.
About the position:
Operations Staff facilitate the day to day needs of families living in our family shelter.
Operations Staff help meet the immediate needs of residents and oversee the facility functions towards a safe and compassionate living space.
Operations Staff work closely with volunteers and other staff in a respectful and cohesive team.
The ideal candidate will be:
Fluent in English AND Spanish.
High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.
Previous experience working in the non-profit sector, group residential settings, and/or social work a plus.
Able to provide compassionate, professional service to a diverse shelter population.
Able to provide light housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to laundry, general cleaning/maintenance.
Able to keep detailed shelter notes, and have excellent written and verbal communication.
Transition House is an EOE.
Job Type: Part-time. Saturdays and Sundays (8:30am 4:30pm)
Salary: $14.00 /hour
