We are seeking a responsible and caring individual for the position of Harbor Crew Coach at our Santa Barbara Harbor group employment program. This is a full-time position supporting various hours including weekends.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the UCP WORK, Inc. Harbor Coordinator, the Harbor Crew Coach (HCC) is responsible for providing vocational training of individuals served by UCP WORK, Inc., as well as ensuring that contract specifications are met and exceeded. The Harbor Crew Coach is also responsible for the implementation of Individual Service Plans and ensuring the crew receives quality training services that promote independence, choice and quality of life. Essential functions of the HCC position may include: supervising and instructing the crew in all aspects of the contract, providing job and safety training, monitoring/assessing persons served in the crew program, and ensuring successful completion of required contract and productivity goals.

The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to build positive relationships between persons served on the crew, the program management team, and the community.

Qualifications/Requirements:

The candidate must possess a High School degree or equivalent, and preferably work experience/understanding of working directly with developmentally disabled adults. A valid California Driver's License, a reliable vehicle and phone are required for this position. In addition, the individual must pass all applicable background checks and drug screen, and be able to lift in excess of 25 lbs. The individual must be compassionate and understand the importance of confidentiality. All employees are trained extensively so that they are prepared to provide the best possible services in a safe and nurturing environment.

This is an entry level position with a rate of pay of $12.25. We are proudly an Equal Opportunity Employer.
