We are seeking responsible and caring individuals for the position of Life Skills Coach in Santa Barbara. We have full-time and part-time positions supporting varied week day and weekend hours.
Position Summary:
The Life Skills Coach (LSC) supports men and women with disabilities, so that they learn the skills necessary to manage their own homes, and that may include: accessing public transportation, housekeeping, banking and paying bills, roommate matching, menu planning, cooking and healthy living (including access to social activities and the community as a whole). In addition, the LSC may support people in all other facets of daily living that enhance independence. As a member of the UCP WORK, Inc. Supported Living Team, the LSC will learn the organization's philosophy on Person Centered Thinking services, and will be expected to put this to practice while supporting person's served. The LSC will be asked to work weekends and holidays.
Qualifications/Requirements:
The LSC must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must possess a valid California Driver's License, personal vehicle liability insurance and a reliable vehicle. In addition, the individual must pass all applicable background checks and drug screen, and be able to lift in excess of 25 lbs. The individual must be compassionate and understand the importance of confidentiality. All employees are trained extensively so that they are prepared to provide the best possible services in a safe and nurturing environment.
This is an entry level position with a rate of pay of $12.25 per hour. We are proudly an Equal Opportunity Employer.
