The Plant Sales Associate is responsible for the daily operation of the Garden Nursery. This individual participates in all aspects of a nursery retail setting, with with strong emphasis on: maintenance and care of the living inventory; positive and informative customer service; coordination of the Garden Grower volunteers; organization, labeling and pricing of plants and hardgoods; accurate and detailed record keeping; and overall cleanliness and maintenance of the garden nursery. Must communicate well verbally and in writing, and maintain good public relations with Garden visitors, volunteers, and staff. This individual may also support and supervise plant production with volunteers such as propagation and planting under the guidance of the Horticulturist and in coordination with the Production Manager. The Plant Sales Associate also works in close cooperation with Garden Shop Staff. This part-time (15-30 hours per week), non-exempt position, reports to the Horticulturist.
