Provides outreach services to prospective transfer students at selected CA community colleges, both locally and throughout CA. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluated programs and activities which will assist students in transferring to the UC. Focus of outreach activities will be geared towards working with high-achieving students and students currently or previously enrolled in UC-sponsored programs such as PUENTE, UMOJA, MESA, and Early Academic Outreach (EAO), and with historically underrepresented populations enrolled in targeted California community colleges, such as Black/African American student groups. Participates in efforts which come forth through collaborations developed by the Transfer Services unity with specific community colleges. Involves working with a host of community college administrators and counselors, as well as University of California personnel. Interacts closely with other staff in the Office of Admissions and Early Academic Outreach, to ensure that activities complement each other.Â

Reqs: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in program development and implementation. Ability to represent the University to K-12 school administrators, teachers, counselors and prospective UCSB students, their families and communities at the highest professional level. Ability to relate to and work well with students from diverse backgrounds, manage workload, prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects under the pressure of tight timelines. Excellent public speaking skills, experience conducting workshops, and academic advising. Excellent organizational skills.Â

Notes: Criminal history background check. Mandated reporting requirements of child abuse and dependent adult abuse. Maintain a valid CA driver's license, a clean DMV record and enrollment in the DMV Employee Pull-Notice Program. Flexible hours to include evenings/weekends. Extensive overnight travel throughout California September-November, March-April.Â

$24.09- $25.00/hr.Â
