An established and growing manufacturing company in Goleta is searching for a Buyer to join their Supply Chain Department. We offer a great benefits package, as well as a 9/80 work schedule. If you are looking to grow with in the company, this could be a great fit.
This person will perform a variety of procurement functions involved in the acquisition of materials and services through partnering with suppliers using LEAN Principles.
Job Responsibilities:
-Preparing purchase orders using the internal computerized system, and placing orders for the purchase of parts and materials
-Analyzing requirements of commodities including specification requirements, preferred suppliers and dates commodities are needed
-Ability to effectively communicate parts status to all team members
-Ability to negotiate and administer purchase orders in support of production needs.
-Work with Suppliers in order to develop a working partnership to achieve JIT deliveries and improved Quality.
-Assures that purchase contracts comply with PDT, government and customer requirements.
-Works closely with Engineering on changes to drawings and specifications, and follows up with suppliers to revise and amend purchase orders
-Communicates with suppliers to expedite and resolve problems and to obtain required material certifications, test reports and product specifications.
-Maintains electronic records and prepares reports of order status and expected delivery dates.
-Attends and participates in meetings, and provides order status updates.
-Following LEAN Principles to continually improve operations in a Team environment to streamline processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with the Supply Chain to ensure JIT.
Qualifications:
-AA degree in business administration or related field preferred
-Knowledge of LEAN principles
-Knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures
-ERP experience
-Knowledge of parts and material specifications
-Ability to read engineering drawings
