Center for Polymers and Organic Solids (CPOS)

Provides financial and administrative support to the Center of Polymers and Organic Solids (CPOS) along with two prominent Chemistry faculty members, their collaborators, and the CPOS Business Manager. Supports and assists the CPOS Business Manager with various financial administrative duties to include, report monitoring, purchasing, posting, payroll and general ledger reconciliation and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Provides daily and monthly financial management assistance chemistry faculty members providing assistance as needed involving travel and entertainment arrangements and reimbursements, extramural grant assistance, including financial and personnel report monitoring, email correspondence, calendar scheduling, taking meeting notes, photocopying, record keeping and other duties as assigned. Independently interacts with scholars from around the world, providing assistance as needed to help them in their work, obtaining a visa to visit UCSB which includes preparing and arranging for travel and reimbursements, email correspondence, and the on-boarding process.
Reqs: Strong organization skills and attention to details. Strong word processing skills, experience with Excel spreadsheets, and data entry. Strong interpersonal communication skills and customer service, establishing cooperative working relationships. Ability to multi-task and prioritize, often having to meet competing deadlines. Ability to solve problems and demonstrate sound reasoning and judgement. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when needed.
Note: Criminal history background check required
$19.48-$22.13/hr.
