SUMMARY
To assist the program chair, students, and faculty in carrying out all phases of the academic program, including, but not limited to: student and faculty support, administrative support, session preparation, and academic issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create, coordinate, and implement the departments outreach for recruitment and retention at all academic levels
Track all students as they enter and exit the program; complete quarterly Dream Protection Reports for the Academic Affairs Office.
Conduct exit interviews as needed; update withdraw log tracking sheet and compile/distribute data as needed
Provide Academic Plans for students to the Registrars Office
Assist as needed in the re-admissions process; provide support and academic counseling to students interested in re-admittance
Provide current and accurate information to students regarding coursework and all other necessary data including symposia and conferences
Request faculty syllabi, book orders, class schedules and other information as needed
Generate on an annual basis, program conference room reservation requests and faculty council meeting room requests as requested by Guest Services
Generate First Year Review Report and distribute at Faculty Council Meeting for review and discussion
Tracking of students entering Dissertation Writing and assistance with transition
Regular updating and management of the Myth Programs Program Assessment Plan & Outcomes for tracking required by the Institutional Learning Department
Maintain a dissertation database of titles and oral defense dates; updated document given to Myth Program Admissions Counselor for distribution to prospective students and to Myth Program Faculty and students
Coordinate with bookstore on all relevant matters and events
Prepare and process adjunct, addendum, substitute and guest speaker contracts including reimbursement requests.
Provide orientation to new adjunct faculty and guest speakers; arrange transportation and housing as needed.
Address all audio/visual classroom needs and set ups and communicate needs in a spreadsheet to the AV department in a timely manner prior to each session.
Coordinate with housekeeping regarding classroom set-ups in a timely manner prior to each session.
Attend faculty council meetings and retreats and report on issues as needed and generate minutes from faculty council meetings
Assist with commencement preparation by proving phonetic listings of MA and Ph.D. graduates to the Chair, provide dissertation titles for Ph.D. graduates to the Chair; reviewing programs for edits
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred.
3-5 years in an administrative and/or educational experience.
Student service experience preferred.
Knowledge of Mythological studies preferred; interest in Mythological studies required.
Counseling skills a plus.
Excellent listening and comprehension skills required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
PC literate; MS Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat
Experience with PowerCampus a plus.
General office equipment.
