{Carpe Data is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join a talented product development team. The position's duties center around testing software for problems, interfacing with developers, documenting any issues, and ensuring errors are corrected. A good QA analyst will find and report issues with software before it is released to the end user.
This role will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to develop innovative products in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have an interest in software development, technology, and the testing process, as well as exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
This is a position a cross-functional and business-critical role in a disruptive and fast-growing startup. It is a great opportunity for both recent graduates looking to get into software as well as current QA professionals.
Key responsibilities
Learn and master the inner workings of a full enterprise product suite
Run software tests according to test plans and carefully document the results
Review product design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable
Ensure that software development meets these requirements
Receive reports of production bugs and quickly take action to investigate or resolve
Troubleshoot potential software issues, look for workarounds, and deliver this information to our internal team members in a clear and concise manner
Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
Required Skills/Experience
Ability to spot flaws and inconsistencies
Love for good software quality at all levels - from behavior-driven tests to overall product experience
A technology enthusiast. Excited to work in a fast-paced development environment, and eager to work with new technologies
Extremely detail-oriented, logical and patient
Self-motivated to explore and undertake new projects
Comfortable working closely with developers and other folks at {Carpe Data
Local to the Santa Barbara area, no telecommuting
Desired Skills/Experience
Bachelor's degree
0-2 years relevant work experience in QA, Data Analysis or Data Quality
Ability to write PostgreSQL database queries
An interest in UI/UX and photoshop abilities to create mockups and wireframes
