We are hiring for a full-time technician that is to be trained for repairing all types of damaged automotive style alloy wheels. Job duties will include lifting and jacking of cars and trucks, sanding, polishing and painting of alloy wheels. We will train you to straighten bent wheels on our wheel straightening machines as well and how to safely operate tire changing equipment. Our trade is similar to Autobody refinishing as we use tools like sanders and painting equipment much like what is used in a bodyshop environment. We will provide all tools, equipment and supplies needed to perform all types of wheel repairs. We are looking for a candidate to become part of our team that will be focused on becoming a certified technician and learning all of the aspects of wheel repair.
Requirements:
-Applicants must have a valid drivers liscence and transportation to and from our shop in Goleta.
-Applicant must be able to safely lift 50+ lbs - Must have good teamwork skills.
- Some background or experience in automotive refinishing or repair.
-Must have a positive and professional attitude daily as well as strong work ethic as this is not the kind of position that many people would call a "laidback" position.
-Hours will be 8am-5pm Monday-Friday and overtime is available most weeks.
-Must have strong customer service skills and a clean overall appearance.
-Ability to drive a pickup truck with enclosed trailer is a big plus.
Once trained and certified you will be expected to maintain a weekly mobile route in which you will be responsible for regular visits to your own list of our clients. On these weekly visits you'll be commissioned to preform repairs on site at dealerships, body shops, service centers and retail customers residences throughout Santa Barbara and ventura county with one of our provided mobile wheel repair units. The amount of growth for this position is unlimited once training, certification and commission pay is achieved. As a mobile technician you are encouraged to expand upon the initial accounts you will be given by locally marketing around your surrounding clients during down times. We will train on an hourly pay basis until tech gains the skills and training needed to complete all repairs, start to finish and can maintain a professional relationship with their clients.
