Job Summary As a Product Application Engineer II you will contribute to various technical customer support activities. The Customer Engineering team serves a critical role as the bridge between SiTime potential customers and internal engineering teams which enables you to see the timing world from the customer’s perspective. You will be responsible for generating customer collaterals, setting up and taking lab measurements, generating empirical data which will help address technical questions and/or confirm customer observations. Responsibilities will also include assisting in debug of customer systems, contributing to internal infrastructure projects, data analysis and report generation. In this role, you will hone your technical and inter-personal skills, learn customer pain points, what they value in our products, and apply this knowledge to drive future product definition.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to a region-specific customer base with the goal of designing in SiTime products
Reproduce customer observed issues on either SiTime EVBs or end customer systems including diagnosis and resolving signal integrity issues and other performance impairments
Analyze acquired data and generate customer facing reports
Component level measurements and data collection using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, phase noise analyzers, frequency counters, etc.
This may require developing automation scripts for these common lab instruments
Contribute to SiTime infrastructure projects which may involve the development of Matlab or Python scripts as needed
Oversee fulfillment of SiTime evaluation boards: review and approve test results, provide guidance to technicians, resolve technical issues as needed
Support other projects as needed by management or as business needs change
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 5 years of industry experience
Hands on experience with using and automating lab instruments including digital scopes, spectrum analyzers and frequency counters
Good understanding of analog and digital electronics, linear signals, and circuit analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Basic programming skills in Matlab, Python or C
Effective written and verbal communication skills
High level of self-motivation, ownership, and drive to make an impact
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 4 years relevant experience
Hands-on experience with electronics laboratory bench instrumentation including high speed digital oscilloscopes, high-end spectrum analyzers, high resolution frequency counters
Proficient in in Matlab, Python or C/C
Good knowledge of digital signal processing
Familiarity and understanding of mixed-signal circuits and troubleshooting.
